All going well, this time tomorrow I'll be on approach to Melbourne airport. Yes, I'll be winging across the Tasman to get to my sister's wedding. I haven't seen P for 3 years, and I'm really looking forward to giving her a big hug. I also get to meet my little niece for the first time; she's so sweet on the phone, I hope I don't scare her!
I've only ever flown 'no frills' before and I'm actually looking forward to trying the cuisine and seeing what movie is on and so forth. I'm pathetic! In reality, my anxiety level has been quite high, I'll be fine once I'm on the plane, it's all the rigmarole involved in organising the trip and getting from home to the plane that gives me the heebies. I shall be the same on the return leg, I expect.
I will be leaving my furry babies to their own devices for a week, with the neighbours coming over to feed them and keep an eye on the place. Scotty and Raro have never been by themselves before, I've always had a cat-sitting family member stay with them. This time all the cat-sitters will be in Melbourne too! I hope and pray they will be all right.
The scarf I was knitting with the mohair is finished, at least the knitting is done. Ends have to be darned in and blocking taken care of. It has turned out rather nice and I'm pleased with it so far. The camera has gone ahead of me to Aussie with Kelv, so no pictures for now, but I will post some when I can.
Well, I'd best get the washing in and sort the last of my packing (clothes are really bulky when you have limited space and weight to fill!) See you's all in a week!
Love and (((hugs))),
D
(I learned the hug thing from the lovely Natalie. It's cute and I love it. Thanks Nat!)
By NOW I'll be in Customs!

I am not a flier, so I sympathize. But no worries, yeah? The kitties will be fine and when you return they will be so purrful and lovey. Go forth and embrace the adventure, then return and share all the new stuff with us. And yes, airline food can be fairly disappointing, unless you are a little boy... my boys have been known to exclaim in joyous tones: "Awesome!"
I am freaky as I like airplane food! Have a brilliant time, big hugs to you. Love, Karen xx
