Oh, blow the wind southerly, southerly, southerly ...

We had a lurid sunset yesterday. The weather has gone from being very summery to autumnal/wintery. It's been windy and drizzly, and the sunset was weird. The sky was a strange pinky purple and everything was bathed in an eerie light.

As you can see, several of my potted plants were blown over; I thought it best to leave them that way until this morning. The wind has eased a bit so I have righted the pots but now they all need watering as they have dried out with the wind. It isn't much fun watering when it's cold out!

Anyhoo, yesterday was also my beloved Raro's 12th birthday. I chased her round with the camera, but she just wouldn't 'pose' for me, this was the best I could get from her. The picture does show off her pretty colours and markings I suppose. Both my cats are getting long in the tooth; Scotty will be 12 in April. I dread the day I have to part with either of them.

Wow what an awesome sky! That is gorgeous I must say. A cool break would be nice here! Hitting mid 30's at the moment here, oh how I miss New Zealand summer's! Not looking forward to the 40 degree days ahead!!!
Miss Raro is 12!! Where has the time gone? I remember when you first bought her home, so tiny! Happy birthday Raro xxx

That sky is so cool. It was in Palmerston North in March that we saw what I think was a meteorite shower, brightly coloured lights with no sound going across the sky.
