Summer salaciousness.

(hope I spelled salaciousness correctly, I'm feeling too lazy to check the dictionary!)

Look at these berried treasures, fresh picked off my raspberry canes not 10 minutes ago. Several found their wicked way to my lips, and, oh! such rapture! Sweet, sun-warmed globes of crimson glory.

I've been reading a lot of Northern Hemisphere blogs and envying their winter Christmas preparations - warm fires, egg nog, lights, family activities, etc, etc, etc. But those things just can't compare to fresh raspberries, just-mown lawns, ham and mustard sandwiches and ice-cold beer. Envious? I hope so.

I suppose I miss out on a lot of the fun and excitement Christmas brings because I don't have children. Sigh. But then, I don't have to share my precious bounty with ANY ONE - AH HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Raspberries are my favourite. I pick them in the Summer and freeze them to use in my Christmas trifle. I'm really the only one who is keen on trifle, so I have a great time! These do look delicious -yum.

I didn't know you had a raspberry plant!!! I'm so jealous. Oh the mess my kids would make with those! Samantha would sneak down and eat them straight from the bush!
