My creations

Hi guys. Did you miss me? In case anyone has been wondering what I've been up to: well, I've been up to lots of little things. Thanks to Ravelry and my joining lots of groups there, my fingers, needles and hooks have been flying! I'm in groups like 12" Block a Month Crochet-along, Hat of the Month, 52 Hat Challenge and more. Every month this year I'm making hats and afghan blocks with these groups AND any other things that take my fancy. These have all been small projects and have been a lot of fun - that's a sampling in my mosaic there on the right.

One Day a Week for UFOs group has been an absolute boon to me in getting items that have languished for months, FINISHED! (Yes P, I even finished Swallowtail!!!) Numbers 3 and 16 in the mosaic (Swallowtail shawl and assorted lace scarves) have been part of my Finishing Friday campaign, where I work on my UFOs on Fridays. It's been extremely gratifying, and a bit humbling, to see my UFO pile shrinking. Thanks to this group, I'm not only finishing the old stuff, I'm also finishing my current projects as I make them - no more leaving ends undarned 'til I feel "in the mood", because - let's face it - no-one likes doing it!

Here's Swallowtail as you would have last seen her:

On the left there, she been soaked, stretched, pinned (just like Medieval torture!), and left to dry. This opens out the lace and makes it beautiful. The finished result is in the mosaic and there's a detail shot of the lily-of-the-valley lace and border below. Si-i-i-i-gh, I do love her but she's not as big as I thought she'd be, and so I've given her to mum for her dolls.
