Seasonality

I've gone and done it now. Flannelette sheets on the bed, that is. An acknowledgement that the season has changed: it is now AUTUMN. No more shorts and tank tops, no more cicada song, no more salad dinners. From here on in it's long pants, sleeves and socks, it's steaming bowls of soup/stew/casserole dinners, it's snuggling down in those warm, fluffy sheets. I dragged the heater out from it's summer home the other day and plugged it in. Oh but it was good to be warm!

Being somewhat miserly when it comes to the power bill, I only heat the sitting room, so sitting at the computer in my brother's room is somewhat of an ordeal during the cold months. I suppose I should heat the room I'm in but this house isn't insulated very well so I don't bother. We survive. I miss the underfloor heating in the previous house I lived in, now that was BLISS.

Everyday I read more and more *spring* posts, so it's delightful to be reminded that the world is round and some of us are walking into another season all together. Stay snug and warm.
