One down ...

My first Ravelympics project is FINISHED:

Head start, the Retro cloche hat, knitted in Jo Sharp Double Knitting Wool, colourway Lichen.

It's really sweet and I'm very pleased with the result. I may end up changing the ribbon, - I had visions of velvet, but ended up using this dark tartan taffeta(?) ribbon as it was something I had already - but then again I may not!

I didn't start at the beginning of the opening ceremony after all, I was tired and tried to get some rest instead. I don't knit all that fast either, so while some other Ravthletes knocked off their hats in hours, mine took a couple of days to complete.

I've begun work on the girl's top, and it's coming along very nicely. I crochet faster than I knit, so it should progress quickly. Will post picture(s) next time.

Totally unrelated - it's cold today. I have three layers on, my toes and fingertips are freezing, and it's raining again. I'm off for some hot soup I think.

Cheers!

Lovely, so glad you joined ravelry, it's a great idea and a good community.

Coming from Scotland I like the tartan ribbon, I do hope it's the Campbell tartan.
